Just like schedule information and social media posts, promos are an important part of letting everyone know what’s on your show.
Julian & Lucy are here to help offer guidance on what we’re looking for – and of course you can listen to the promos that are already on the air.
What you need to know
Promos should be emailed to Julian [julian@cambridge105.co.uk] ideally a week before the programme is broadcast to allow for sufficient air time.
Guidelines for pre-made promos
- Remove all breaths from in-between speech (please mix in a multitrack session)
- Ensure audio levels are consistent
- Make sure the microphone is of the highest quality
- Ensure mixed promos don’t exceed 40 seconds
- Save the promo as a minimum of 320kbps
- End with [Show], [Time] on Cambridge 105 Radio. Listen Live on Radioplayer.
Please note that there may be occasions when a promo cannot be scheduled, or if the audio quality is not of a sufficient standard.
There’s also a limit to the number of promos that we can run at any one time, either to ensure we cover a good cross selection of the schedule, or because a special event is taking precedence.
