This applies to live handovers from a presenter using Remote Rivendell to one in Studio B only. If you're using Studio A, see https://cambridge105.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/48001198170 instead.
The order of these steps is important: if you get it wrong, you are likely to end up with a significant echo or feedback on air.
For the presenter in Studio B:
- Ensure Studio B is not live: the studio selector switch should be either Remote or Studio A, and the Studio B fader should be down in Studio A.
- Make sure Studio B's remote fader (the far left fader) is down.
- Select "Desk Out" (not TX) on the headphone selection switches. You should stop hearing the remote show.
- Check Studio B is not live before proceeding.
- Open Studio A's Cleanfeed guest link. This is a shortcut on the Windows PC's desktop, named "Remote Rivendell - Guest - CAREFUL".
- Click the Cleanfeed start button.
- Put the PC Play fader up - you should start hearing the remote show again.
- When you are ready to chat to the on-air presenter, ensure you're not muted on Cleanfeed, and put your mic fader up.
- Chat!
- Put your mic fader back down, then close Cleanfeed.
- Check Cleanfeed is closed before proceeding.
- Set the headphone selection switches back to TX. You should start hearing the remote show again.
- When you're ready to start your show, make Studio B live by putting the Studio B fader up in Studio A (and ensuring the studio selection switch is set to Studio A).
For the remote presenter: the studio presenter will appear as a regular guest on Cleanfeed, so you don't need to do anything special. Liaise with the studio presenter on Slack to agree when you're going to chat, and make sure they're ready.
