This applies to live handovers from a presenter using Remote Rivendell to one in Studio A only.

The order of these steps is important: if you get it wrong, you are likely to end up with a significant echo or feedback on air.

For the presenter in Studio A:

  1. Ensure the studio selection switch is set to Remote (red light alight, green and amber lights extinguished). If it is not, select Remote by pushing and holding the red button.
  2. Put the Remote fader down. You should now hear nothing in your headphones or the studio speakers.
  3. Check the remote fader is down before proceeding.
  4. Open Studio A's Cleanfeed guest link. This is a shortcut on the Windows PC's desktop, named "Remote Rivendell - guest - careful".
  5. Click the Cleanfeed start button.
  6. Put the PC Cart fader up - you should start hearing the remote show again.
  7. When you are ready to chat to the on-air presenter, ensure you're not muted on Cleanfeed, and put your mic fader up.
  8. Chat!
  9. Put your mic fader back down, then close Cleanfeed.
  10. Check Cleanfeed is closed before proceeding.
  11. Put the remote fader back up - you should hear the remote show again.
  12. When you're ready to start your show, set the studio selection switch to Studio A (push and hold the green button)

For the remote presenter: the studio presenter will appear as a regular guest on Cleanfeed, so you don't need to do anything special. Liaise with the studio presenter on Slack to agree when you're going to chat, and make sure they're ready.
